The Captive Cap is DynaVap's updated original cap featuring enhanced functional geometry that adds even more utility to this essential component of battery-free thermal extraction devices. The new design improves cap retention, airflow distribution, and click indication.
Enhanced Captive Design
The Captive Cap features two small indents on the side that lock onto the tip, preventing the cap from falling off during use. This is a significant improvement over the original friction-fit cap, providing security and peace of mind during sessions.
Improved Airflow Distribution
The enhanced geometry allows for more even distribution of airflow compared to previous models. This results in better convection heating and more consistent vapour production throughout your session.
Better Click Indication
The Captive Cap provides improved tactile indication of both the heat-up and cool-down clicks. You'll feel and hear the clicks more clearly, making it easier to achieve perfect heating every time.
Free-Spinning Movement
The Captive Cap allows for free movement and spinning, making it easy to rotate your device during torch heating for even heat distribution. Just in case you like things that spin.

Recommended Heating Settings
With Torch:
- Heat near the base of the cap for denser vapour
- Heat near the tip of the cap for lighter, more flavourful vapour
- Spin the device while heating for even heat distribution
- Wait for the click (typically 5-7 seconds)
- Respect the cool-down click before reheating
With Yllvape IH 2.0:
- Power: 35W - 45W for standard caps
- Timer: ~15-20s
- Respect the click for even extraction
With Yllvape IH 3.0:
- Power: 35W - 50W for standard caps
- Timer: Adjustable 10-60s
