DynaVap Armored Cap – High-Mass Armoured Replacement Cap

The DynaVap Armored Cap is a high-mass stainless steel replacement cap designed for longer heat retention, denser extraction and fewer heating cycles than a standard DynaVap cap. It contains a Captive Cap inside a heavier stainless steel shell, allowing no-spin torch heating and full extraction in fewer heat cycles when used correctly. Available from Puha Express with NZ dispatch.

Best for:
- Experienced DynaVap users wanting stronger heat retention
- Denser extraction from compatible DynaVap tips
- Torch users who want no-spin heating
- Pairing with the DynaVap M Plus Tip for larger-bowl sessions
- Users with a suitable high-power induction heater
- Keeping a power-focused cap option alongside a standard Captive Cap

Key Features:
- High-mass stainless steel Armored Cap design
- Captive Cap encased in a heavier stainless steel shell
- Longer heat retention than standard DynaVap caps
- Full extraction achievable in fewer heating cycles
- No spinning required when torch heating correctly
- Audible temperature-indicating click
- Tight captive fit to help reduce hot-cap detachment
- 12mm diameter, larger than standard DynaVap caps
- Compatible with standard DynaVap tips
- Not compatible with DynaVap Hyper Tip / HyperDyn-style large-format tips

Compatibility:
- Fits standard DynaVap tips
- Compatible with DynaVap M7 Tip, M Plus Tip, Helix Tip and Halo Tip
- Best paired with higher-capacity or heat-retentive setups such as the M Plus Tip
- Compatible with torch heating
- Compatible with some induction heaters, but may require higher power or multiple cycles due to the larger 12mm diameter
- Works best with the YLLVAPE IH 3.0 when using an induction heater
- Not compatible with DynaVap Hyper Tip / HyperDyn-style large-format tips
- Pair with a Decapper or DynaStash magnet for safer hot-cap handling

Heating Guidance:

With a Torch:
- Heat slowly at the Armored Cap heating reference/logo
- No spinning is usually required when heating correctly
- The click takes longer than a standard cap
- Expect longer heat retention than a standard Captive Cap
- Full extraction may be achieved in fewer heat cycles depending on torch technique, load size and tip choice

With YLLVAPE IH 3.0:
- Start around 50W–70W
- Start with a 30s–45s timer range
- Adjust carefully based on click timing and personal setup
- The larger 18mm coil and higher power range make the IH 3.0 the better YLLVAPE pairing

With YLLVAPE IH 2.0:
- May work, but can require higher settings or more heating cycles
- Battery drain may be higher due to the mass of the Armored Cap
- Monitor click timing carefully

Important Usage Notes:
- The Armored Cap takes longer to heat than a standard Captive Cap
- Wait for the click before drawing
- Wait for the cool-down click before reheating
- Use caution when removing the cap because it retains heat for longer
- A Decapper, magnet or DynaStash is strongly recommended for hot-cap handling
- The tighter fit may mark or scratch some titanium or coated tips during placement or removal
- Scratches from normal fitment do not usually affect performance
- Use extra care with PVD-coated or coloured tips

Armored Cap vs Other DynaVap Caps

Armored Cap:
A high-mass cap designed for stronger heat retention, denser extraction and no-spin torch heating. Best suited to experienced users or users wanting a power-focused DynaVap setup.

Captive Cap:
The standard DynaVap cap for most users. Captive indents help secure the cap to the tip, while the free-spinning design supports smooth torch heating.

Low Temp Captive Cap:
A lower-temperature cap designed for flavour-focused sessions, lighter extraction and material conservation.

The Cap:
The original DynaVap cap with a friction-fit design. A simple replacement option for users who prefer the classic cap style.

Recommended Setup:
- DynaVap M7 Tip
- DynaVap M Plus Tip
- YLLVAPE IH 3.0
- YLLVAPE IH 2.0
- Decapper
- DynaWax
- DynaKit Maintenance
- Stainless Steel CCD screens
- DynaStash or SnapStash storage

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the DynaVap Armored Cap for?
The Armored Cap is designed for stronger heat retention, denser extraction and fewer heating cycles compared with a standard DynaVap cap.

Does the Armored Cap fit the DynaVap M7?
Yes. The Armored Cap fits standard DynaVap tips, including the M7 Tip.

Does the Armored Cap fit HyperDyn?
No. The Armored Cap is not suitable for Hyper Tip or HyperDyn-style large-format tips.

Is the Armored Cap better than the Captive Cap?
It depends on the user. The Captive Cap is better for general everyday use, while the Armored Cap is better for users wanting stronger heat retention, denser extraction and no-spin torch heating.

Can I use the Armored Cap with an induction heater?
Yes, but compatibility varies because the Armored Cap is larger and heavier than standard caps. It works best with higher-power induction heaters such as the YLLVAPE IH 3.0.

Does the Armored Cap get hotter than a standard cap?
Yes. The extra stainless steel mass retains heat for longer, so use caution when handling it after heating.
